Additives
Optimise the effect of plant protection products with additives
It takes a long time for new active ingredients to come onto the market and we see a decreasing performance of those we already have. However, the performance of many plant protection products can be improved by adding additives.
At BioNutria, we have two types of additives. Ammonium sulphate, which increases the plant’s ability to absorb glyphosate, MCPA and some other plant protection products, and Bio pH Control, which is used to regulate the pH of the spray solution.
Bio pH Control lowers the pH of the spray solution and neutralises the negative effects of calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate.
BioNutria’s BioCrop series and BioMangan 170 NSP contain acidifying substances, but if you have very hard water, we recommend adding Bio pH Control.
When should you use a spreading adhesive?
Spreading adhesives should not be mixed into spraying solutions containing BioNutria’s manganese products or micronutrient mixtures.
All BioNutria products contain spreading adhesives with the exception of our products for organic farming and BioNutria Bor 150.
Additives for absorption improvement (oily substances) can be added to herbicides in the usual way, also when mixing BioNutria products. The amount of these additives can be halved if necessary.
When should pH adjusting additives be used?
Bio pH Control should always be used when using hard water in the spray solution. First and foremost, when spraying with glyphosate, pyrethroids, phenoxies, growth regulators and many of the beet products.
For example, the half-life of phenmedipham is 7 minutes at pH 9 compared to 47 days at pH 5. Furthermore, it is a good idea to add a pH-adjusting additive when spraying BioNutria Bor 150.
